What I lack in experience hails in comparison to what I am prepared to do.

In theory, a class A area in a hail zone would be more at risk than a class D area with the only risk being accasional burglary. 

As condo/townhome investors, we generally don't have to worry too much about wind/hail since that type of damage *usually* (crosses fingers and knocks on wood) happens to common area property, which is covered by the HOA. 

@John-David Hails - Have you read some of the books in this thread post? 

You know that the sun, rain, and hail are constantly beating up the roof and siding.  

We had a hail storm and had to replace my roof because it was all damaged.

This may prove very difficult for coastal areas such as the one I am in as you need 3 policies, Dwelling coverage, then you need Windstorm and Hail if in a coastal county, and if close to water, a flood policy so estimating this accurately seems almost impossible.

@Paige Hutchinson We recently purchased our first vacation rental in Orange Beach and have not regretted it one bit, even after damages from Hurricane Sally and the softball size hail storm my complex was hit with.
