I've been sending direct mail - postcards, yellow letters - and have yet to get a property under an off-market contract after 10+ owner / seller meetings.

@Steve Romano go to trulia.com - put in address and scroll down the addresses page - a crime report will color the mapped area surrounding the address in green (good), yellow (decent) or red (bad).

Can I still send out yellow letters, postcards, door knock properties, and other forms of advertising to buy properties for my wholesaling and flip business?

I am wondering if not personalizing the yellow letter itself makes a difference?  

I think if I had the need for urgent legal advice I would pick up the yellow pages and flip to the section entitled Attorneys.
