Right now the property is listed at (104,000) about face value, if not a little over, so we are not afraid at all to throw "our offer low enough that we are ashamed of".

If the owners fail to maintain a formal legal separation between their business and their personal financial affairs, a court could find that the corporation or LLC is really just a sham (the owners' alter ego) and that the owners are personally operating the business as if the corporation or LLC didn't exist.

It's a shame.

The take home message, and it is a good one, is to think through and validate every part of your plan from entrance to exit to make sure it is sound BEFORE entering ... it would be ashame to get through most of the first steps only to find you are pinched in on your planned exit.
