Welcome to BP! I hope you find this community as awesome as I have. Lots of information and I hope you can find value here! Did you recently separate from the Navy? I was a former HM so I do understand the transition. Hope we can connect sometime soon! Cheers!

Good Morning,

I am currently in the area from Seattle, Wa. I am looking to meet up with investors in the area. I would like to talk about the market and what the growing trend is like. Reason why I am here is because my girlfriend is in the military and I am looking to move here for school and investing. I am leaving to go back to Seattle on June 2nd, but anytime before then would be great.

Cheers,

David W.

I really appreciate this. It just seems like the market is moving down to Tacoma and Everett. Is that the growing trend or am I going crazy.

@Priti Donnelly I appreciate your response to this thread. Unfortunately, I have actually moved from Japan to pursue real estate in Washington state. I am sure there are a lot of other people that would love to chat about Japan. I believe @Adam Treece is still in Japan and may be interested, but I do understand he did just recently purchase a property.

This is awesome! I've been slacking on my investing adventure, but have been working for a general contractor to get my skills up. Thanks for the motivation!

Welcome! I just got back from being stationed in Okinawa, Japan! Keep building your plans and goals! Maybe you might want to look at Guam as a investing point. Military is building up on that island and needs housing for family members since they will probably want to live off base. Just a tool you might want to throw in your tool box.

Respectfully,

Post: Financing a house hack project

Good Evening Biggerpockets!

My question for everyone, is how do I finance a deal on which I want to house hack. I have a job which I just started and I have no debt, decent credit score, but the banks want me to work at my job for 3-6 months before I even ask for a loan. IF I find a house that I would like to purchase and rehab and rent out. Should I just go with a hard money loan or continue to find a bank or credit union that is willing to finance my project?

My goal is to find a house that I can start paying for and get my foundation situated since I just arrived back from overseas.

Thank you in advance for your time and feedback.
