Hey All,

Wanted to give an update on what has happened to this post 4 years after. I have bought a large SFH in Virginia and currently working on a multi family in Pittsburgh. Looking to purchase another SFH in Virginia as now both girlfriend and I are now civilians. This has been a long time coming, but I want to thank everyone here that responded 4 years ago. I now want to purchase multi families and in two years a 24 unit apartment complex.

Just to be clear, this post did stir up some strong conversations from my girlfriend, but in the end. We both won since we kept our $10k and now have a home to live in.

Thank you everyone and I really appreciate all of your help and guidance! One day, I will be back on the West Coast, but for now. I will be investing on the east coast and make my way back (slowly).

Thank you Everyone!

@Matt Higgins -- I agree, I love working with like minded people, but currently I am in a start up that is like riding a ship in rough seas. You don't know if the ship is going to sink and you don't know if you're cruising in calm waters.

What I really love doing is helping people and being able to say, yes Jimmy, I can help and yes we offer a great living environment that is win win for all (If they pay their rent on time).

However, I am on the cusp on quitting my job even though I wrote this a year ago.

Hey Connor!

First, congrats on entering the contract in Baltimore! :D Would love to hear more about your choice of why choosing Baltimore and why not Richmond? I just drove back from Richmond and I'm debating with myself on which areas are worth my time + money.

Thanks @Dan Robinson! The home does not pay a HOA fee nor do we have a HOA that governs this neighborhood. From my research this is a go, but had to check BP.

Hi All,

Does anyone happen to know what the Woodbridge, VA laws for RV/camper trailer parking? I have read its only paved parking allowed and only 72 hours on city streets. Does anyone else know other rules that may prevent a RV renter from moving onto my property?

I have been using http://www.pwcgov.org/government/dept/dot/Pages/Re... as my research platform.

Hey BP!

I would say that this is a good problem to have, but I am currently in the process of renting my entire home out which is a 5 bed/2 bath SFH. I have heard of legendary house hackers that rent ALL rooms and sleep in the living room. Is that a advisable thing to do?

If you're in Virginia and if I can help you send some of these renters your way. Shoot me a message! Would love to help someone thats starting out!
