@Paul Rush

Great question. I have spoken to another military investor recently who was investing in the Augusta market. Maybe cyber related? Looking forward to hearing the impetus for the action.

@Alexander Rivera

We invest in the hill area of Augusta. Near schools and hospitals. Let me know if you have any questions about the area.

Hello Paul,

Is this meeting always on a Thursday? If so I will likely be able to attend soon. In October I have a work engagement, but will have Fridays off going forward and will be able to make the trip to Augusta for one/more of the next few meetings. I was thinking Joel had said the meeting were on Thursdays.

My wife and I have been using John Demyan, CPA in Augusta for our tax prep. We do not yet have LLC's holding properties as they are in our names. We have enjoyed working with him and he has been quite knowledgeable to this point in our journey. He also seems quite affordable and was recommended to us by someone with many more units.

@Luka Milicevic

Thanks for the ideas. We were just in Nashville a few weeks ago, and enjoyed some Nashville Hot chicken. We love the town and look forward to getting back. We stayed in an airbnb in WeHo with 5 other couples and by my calculations, it seems like a good place to use the airbnb model.

We have heard good things about peg leg porker and hope to get there this time.

Looking forward to getting to Nashville again.

Hello BP,

My wife and I will be attending BP Con, Oct. 6-8. We are super excited, and looking forward to meeting like minded people who are actively doing real estate and pursuing FI. We will see you at the Biggerpocket Conference.

We will be flying into Nashville Sat morning. Then staying at the Gaylord Sunday and Monday night and flying home Tuesday night to return to work Wed. morning.

I know we will learn something or make a connection that will be much more valuable than the cost of the weekend. I can't wait to see what that opportunity will be.

We have 8 units purchased in the last 3 years in Augusta GA (great area). Most recently a 4 unit which is currently under rehab. We are looking forward to meeting and connecting with you all in Nashville!

Winn and Kaitlin Merwin

See you there.

@Scott Trench

Starting from a position of eagerness but limited knowledge, connections and experience can work for beginning with real estate investing, but I would worry that your timeline to too short to find a property, build a team and successfully exit a flip in Augusta.

We are buy and hold investors in Augusta who live 2 hours away. We have had rentals for 3 years but we are going through our first rehab currently and it is taking much longer than anticipated. There is so much we did not know when we began our rehab. We believe it will work out in time, but thankfully we are able to take our time to make sure we get this one right. We will be much more efficient in the future, but the first one will likely take much longer than anticipated and cost more than expected.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

@Adam Scheetz

@Colleen Weaver

Yes, the public schools are not great, poor in places. This has not effected our rentals in the hill area of Augusta to date. The development down town and the growth of the college and jobs coming into the area have increased the potential tenants. They are mostly young, college or working age folks who want to be near the growing downtown area and jobs. We love the area and believe in its prospects for years to come.

@Kenneth Mooney

Great thought. Ill check with GA power.

@CJ M.

If that is the case, Ill rent it out with the promise of new windows, and install after a tenant has been placed. Thank you for the idea.

@Jason D.

That is the conclusion my CPA came too. Not that excited about it from that perspective.
