Greg, how did you get such a fancy signature? Is that something Pro users get?

My name is Vlad Kuzin and I am just getting into the real estate. I have been software engineer working for global software company in Redmond, but few years ago, I have started business in auto industry and was able to quit my day job. Now looking to heavily get in to the real estate to create one more stable source of income. Interested in everything from apartments to SF, from repositions to wholesaling, fix & flips as well as in future types of real estate investments, which are not even created yet :)

Thank you guys for your replies and insights.
I’ve talked to the state licensing and they confirm that I have to start as broker and have to be associated with some firm (work under managing broker). If I want to have broker license under my own firm, then I have to hire managing broker until I can get that license myself in 3 years.
If anyone has similar questions you can call state licensing at

I am just starting as real estate investor, and only had few deals done. I am looking for freedom to access MLS information and have MLS key to see properties, so I am thinking to get license.

Since I live in Seattle WA, I wonder what is the difference between Broker vs Managing Broker? Should I just get regular Broker license to get access to MLS?
I heard somewhere that Broker has to work for Managing Broker, but I cannot get Managing Broker license because I do not have 3 years of experience working in real estate. Can someone who done this before clarify which license I need.
