@Dan Fisher

Its always better to have the entity registered in the same state where your main business resides.

If you do open a LLC in other states, then you need to register the business as foregin entity in the home state that you are going to do business in, which will apparently cost some money.

LLC's are very good when it comes to assent protection, but does not serve much if its just one member LLC, it's like having a shield that is no good, as veil piercing is very very easy.

Please talk to your attorney and CPA to decide what would be the best option for you and your business and your long term plans.  You should not cut corners specially when you are laying the foundation for your future.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Post: Any success in getting the Tax bill down PRIOR to closing?

Agree with @Derek Martin

Always get the seller paid tax credit at closing and then work with a Property Tax attorney to challenge the taxes. You can do it buy your self, but with an attorney most of these are on contingent basis.

They only get paid if they get your taxes lower, which means you can use them to the fullest and there is not pre payment of any sort.

Also they will challenge last two year which will get you a fat refund check if they win you the case. So its again not going to go out of your pocket. Some one paid for it, you are just trying to get a refund.

All the best with your closing.
