Yup, it's just a shame that the fair and balanced news network is making fun of them, that only speaks to their credibility.

OUR military means American or Canadian? If American, see the message above. If Canadian... well then sounds like a different problem.

I could not agree more with J.
My hat off, support and admiration to the troops that enlisted for a noble cause and I hope the crooks that sent them in harm's way for false pretenses (political and personal gain) get what they deserve, preferably somewhere in Geneva.

From losing interest in investing to calling anyone who disagress with your (outsider) political views "less intelligent" is a LOOONGGG WAY. I tried to echo that in my post, but perhaps I should make it more obvious. Humor is just a waste in some situations...

the reason USA politics matter to me is because they affect my decisions as a foreigner looking to invest in USA real estate.

Hey Shana, let me play devil's advocate here for a minute, humor me, OK?. Let's say I'm interested in Canada for various reasons (I have many friends there, I want to send my kids to study there, I might want to purchase a vacation cabin for myself and my friends to spend time together, etc). Truth is, all the above reasons are valid, and others may apply as well.

Along those lines here are a few things I don't like (humor me) about Canada that should be changed in order for me to stay interested, and I'll write directly to the authorities in Ottawa to take immediate measures:

1. political system - replace that messiah PM immediately, along with the ruling party. I just don't like them. Queen? what is she good for? Out she goes!
2. health system - why keep universal health care like the rest of the western world, change that immediately to US system. You're in the Americas, not Europe
3. immigration policy, should be changed immediately and allowed in only individuals that can prove thru DNA and psychological testing that they'll only contribute to the society and not become a liability, along with their descendents, down to the 3rd generation
4. taxes. what's the nonsense with 2 separate taxes on each purchase (in Toronto at least). Cut that off immediately completely or back to one tax, 2 separate taxes is confusing
5. Change that maple leaf to a star, it just looks better. What are you, tree-huggers??
6. Make up your mind if you're going to use metric system or US system. Keeping them both is very confusing.
7. Melt some of that ice away so we can see the world better when we look around from Alaska. We almost can't see Russia because of you.

8 and finally, whichever Canadians do not agree with my 1-7 points must be less intelligent, uneducated compared to the average Canadian. Reason? well, they disagreed with me and I'm intelligent.

Now, did I miss something?

I for one think fighting for FREEDOM is worthwhile. Unfortunately wars like the current one in Irak are nothing about that (freedom).

And fighting for one's liberties is worthwhile. Like the ones that PA took away. Like borrowing a book from a library should not be a reason for scrutiny, like it was 20 yrs ago in the communist block. But of course, that's my opinion, that many here disagree with.

Unfortunately Canadians can't vote in the US, last I've heard...

now to me( someone who doesn't spend all my time fighting an opinionated argument in a forum about REAL ESTATE INVESTING) that remark seemed like a political cheap attack at Shana Gray.

seriously people! get off of your high horse and get back to discussing things related to the thread instead of immigration and foreign policies.

I know you ( and if you think I'm talking about you then you're probably right ) will turn your attention to me and I just wanted to let you know I'm ok with that as it's expected b/c I've probably sparked some political fire in your brain b/c I said "get off your high horse" so go ahead and bring it, I'll still sleep like a baby while you're wasting your day away over ridiculous nonsense.

Nick, relax, Shana and I enjoy poking at each other's arguments.
And TRULY REALLY sorry to disappoint you but I won't turn my attention to you.

Again, blanket statement. In my book and many others I know, the previous decider had many EXTREME views compared to average the American. Who's to say who's right? Ultimately the electors, prolly? Unfortunately Canadians can't vote in the US, last I've heard...

Funny thing is, all Canadians I spoke to have agreed that Canada would be nothing like it is today without the aggressive but calculated immigration policies, specially during the past 1990-2000 decade. Comparable in aggressiveness maybe only with the influx of immigrants to the US at the beginning of the 1900's.

As opposed to the US immigration during the same past decade, Canada has targeted on relatevely young, better (higher) educated wave of immigrants whose immediate contribution to the economy was nothing to be neglected, provided quite a boost. I remember seeing Toronto growing, changing, developing during that time from one week to another (that's how often I was traveling there).

Sadly though, they were probably mostly Liberals, ultimately destined to ruin the country, from what I hear now

Dunno if he is or not, but I don't mind calling a bluff when I see one. Sort of like "elected in pure communist fashion"
