I'm full time so it's a bit different, but I don't think you will ever get past the value of in person training and interaction with other agents and your broker. If you don't plan on doing any business besides representing yourself, maybe it doesn't matter. But if you want to actually become a resource and maybe plan to shift to full time at some point, the training you'll get from a physical brokerage is worth it.

@Eva Morel awesome congrats! Surprised $2500 was enough of a deposit to entice them, I'd probably expect 2% at least if it's a matter of competing! Good job though :)

@Jason Shu All good questions and congrats on getting started!

The best way to find an agent is through referrals. Biggerpockets is actually a perfect place for that. I’ll shoot you a message to see how I can help!

It’s great to get recommendations from your agent on property managers and lenders, but doesn’t hurt to also do your own research. Ask your agent why they recommend those people and what experience they have working with them. And yes, be very upfront with your agent! That way they can help you and educate you as best they can :)

@April Lee market is hot in Burlington but there are still properties that will cash flow. Rental properties are probably your best bet if you aren't up for doing a flip. Let's connect!

@Emily Auert John and Starr at The Vermont Agency are in the KW office every month and do presentations, they definitely have more respect for REI than other financial planners and they have a good reputation.
