the peopl on here who think the contractor should not ask for any money up front are delusional. I am always booked at least 2- 3 months out. If you would like to reserve a spot on my schedule, there needs to be an initial down payment. with all the games home owners like to play..giving a down payment lets me know you are serious. Stop bottom feeding on the lowest bid contractor, find yourself a reputible contractor and your money will be safe. That beingsai..75 percent upfront is absurd!

contractor here. i deal with this nonsense all the time. peope trying to nickle and dime you over every little thing only to wind up goin with the lower bid. I put up with that my first year or so in business. Now im picky on who i select as a client. My price is my price. Maybe if im in a good mood ill knock a hundred off the price.

you may want additional insurance if someone other than the contractor is on your property..a jobsite visitor is not covered under the contractors insurance policy
