Hi Mike welcome! That is great to see you have a well thought out plan. I invest in Brantford so not too far from Hamilton. The first one is always the hardest then it gets easier each time as you have a better idea of what to expect. I started in October 2013 and have bought one per year so now I am at 3 rental properties. Good luck and keep me posted on your success!

Hey! Glad to see other fellow Ontarians out there! We have just closed on our third single family property in Brantford. (Started October 2013) I find the quality of tenants excellent and there are very few rentals over 3 bedrooms not rented to students. I think I found my niche market for now: rent to nice families looking for 3-4 bedrooms. The first 2 I found the tenants first then looked for a home that matched the criteria I was looking for but involved the tenants as well which they have turned out to be the best ever. This year though prices are starting to rise faster than in the past so finding this last home took a bit longer.
