@Jon Holdman

People ask all the time "when can I quit my day job". And the answer is very much "it depends." Wealth generates income in the form of returns. If you goal is to live off those returns, you need a big enough pile to support your lifestyle. The size of the pile will be very different if your lifestyle is an apartment facing Central Park and expensive vacations than if its living in a dirt cheap area in the center of the company.

I agree 100% ,It depends on your life style!

I have family members and friends who live it up ,they want best of everything ,and take many exotic vacations and some are out of control.

They don't want to keep up with the Jones they have to top them

They need at least quadruple the income we do just to support lifestyle.

And by most folks standards they appear wealthy

I am getting Lazy and try to do as little as possible.

I have spruced up when in an area that had a lot of other places for rent

usually rents faster ,some stay longer and you can up the price a bit at times.

If there isn't much competition I won't .

Thought I would toss this in... :)

I usually tend to think Wealth = Net worth

My wife believes Wealth: peace of mind and free time to do as you choose.

When I have a lot on my plate and Murphy's Law is biting my butt over and over

I agree with her definition of Wealth.

I agree with checking the area at night and will want to see what it's like on the weekends

just talk to some of the people in the area and you can learn a lot

I look at distance to shop ,restaurants, churches, parks.

Here you may see a lot of folks in the daytime in one area who are deadbeats but in another area they may be employed and work second or third shift and if its summer some factory's work weird hours when it's real hot.

You had the backhoe and the know how and saved money!

I see it as a win!

haven't ran across a lot of buried well heads when I do I usually extend the casing to at least ground level and cap(still mow over it)

I prefer to extend the casing at least six inch above ground and I add some bleach and cap, but the winters aren't like yours.
