I would suggest using the LLC to be inconspicuous. This gives you the option to choose what you reveal to people in regards to you side hustle.

The nest does have a feature where you can lock out controls on the device and access it only from the phone if need be. You enter a pin number to unlock it if your in front of the device. All aspects of the hardware are programmable from a phone as well as on the actual device. Also mobile WIFI or hot spot will also work with Nest devices. You also get a report that compares your energy savings performance to other in your area on a monthly basis. I have one and love it. There are others out there, but not as polished and capable as the Nest. The apple device of thermostats. Can you tell I'm a techie?
