@Nick Giulioni there is so much history in Indy. We are working on an OOS investors week, so everyone can see what we see and appreciate what Indy is and has to offer.

I saw someone speaking of Philly has a craphole, and criticizing other managers/realtors/brokers for toting Philly as something it isn't. Didnt want folks thinking the same thing about Indy, because it truly is an awesome city, whether in or out the belt!

About me:

I am attached to a military man, Chris, in San Diego (renting) for at least the next 4 years. Chris and I are both 34-year-old DINKs looking to start a family soon. After listening to BiggerPockets Money and reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, I am obsessed with breaking into real estate. I have been an avid investor in other areas since college, I am ready to learn something new! My day job is an engineer supporting the Navy. Over the past year and a half, I intentionally reduced my hours to ~30 hours per week in order to have more time to learn about other investing options. In a couple years I hope to be out of the typical work force and be a stay-at-home mom (don’t actually have the kids yet) with investments to manage.

REI Goal 1: Find a primary residence deal in San Diego using the VA loan with emphasis on a multi-family house hack or single-family live-in flip.

REI Goal 2: Out of state rental investments. My brother-in-law is actively investing in Huntsville, AL, which is the market I'm currently researching, but am open to any knowledge/location.

I've been a BiggerPockets member for awhile now, listed to hours and hours of podcasts and I'm getting the itch to finally get started.

I'm based out of San Francisco, CA and looking to invest outside given the market conditions in my area.

I've been exploring the Indy area for a BRRRR. I would appreciate any recommendations for the core four (realtor/deal finder, property manager, contractor and lender)

@Joanne Kim Indianapolis can be a great market.  Just like @Justin Polston I like outside the belt.  Let me know if that doesn't make sense.  Be happy to explain that one. 

@Ivan Barratt also makes a great point here.  It really depends upon your strategy and the type of properties you are focused on.  Inside the belt can be tough on duplex or MF.  Outside the belt doesn't have quite as much to offer in that vein.

@Nick Giulioni is pretty sharp.  David Moudy has proven his talents and has a high business ethic.  I wouldn't endorse him necessarily, there are few I would endorse.  But he's good!!

I would also be careful about going with one outfit for everything.  Kinda like our government - three separate branches.  Helps keep everything honest.
