Hi my name is Michael, I am currently looking to move to DFW from California within the next few month. I looking for a realtor that can help me find a studio or 1 bedroom apartment in the $600-$900 range. I do understand that I may not get the best apartment but I do need something to get into to get situated. Best apartment in the range is what I am looking for and I need help because I do not know the area too well besides a few trips I have taken last year. I do have cash up front to pay for 6-12 months. I will be looking for a job when I get to the DFW area. Once I find a job and this lease is up I will be looking to buy which I would need help with also. Please let me know if you can help in anyway. Thanks.

Hi there my name is Mike and I am going to be a first time home buyer.

I just got half my inheritance and want to acquire a cheap condo/apartment preferably under 100k in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. At most under 150k. Ive seen some on Zillow. But some tell me that Zillow isn’t always accurate either. Right now I have roughly around 60k in stock and another 60k stock coming in January.

I am currently living in the Bay Area and I do have income now, but I do not have a job yet in Dallas. I am desperately wanting to move now but if I leave I wont have income just yet. Its been hard trying to land a job out of state. And I don’t want to move and waste inheritance on rent.

I have heard of some folks telling me I can get a loan that doesn’t require me to have income. As long as they see that I have enough assets to pay it.

Or that I can use my income I have now in the bay to get qualified, purchase, and then move after.

Can someone clear this up for me? And run me through my options? Im out here in California pretty miserable.

I am visiting Dallas, TX this coming week to check out the area and the neighborhoods. Moving from CA to escape cost of living, politics, etc. I am thinking about moving to DFW in the near future and need some advice or info about the neighborhoods I am considering. Neighborhoods I am considering are Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Arlington, or even by downtown Dallas. I am a 30 year old single male. I will be looking at the neighborhoods this coming week. It would be much appreciated to get someones advice that knows the area! Thank you for taking the time to read!

I would love to know more about the timber game. I feel like there is huge opportunity in land that a lot of people sleep on. Especially cash flowing it. I would love to get into land and hold some and flip others.

As for flips, I see people getting properties pennies on the dollar, then turning around and flipping it full price or do terms. I see people doing terms then recouping their initial investment with the down payment then doing a $100-300 payments a month. Then repeat the process.

My number one question to do any of these strategies is how does everyone find these land deals and how do you know if its a good investment?

@Jay Hinrichs I know exactly where that is! That is awesome to hear. I wish real estate here was easier to purchase here in the Bay Area and Monterey Bay.

I am very interested in flipping land too, but my entrepreneurial spirit wants to open up business’ using land as well. And also holding the land on some of my deals.

I would love to have my first deal be a cheap piece of land with an airstream airbnb. Just trying to educate myself as much as possible and doing research before I actually commit to this venture.

Is there anyone out there that has bought land to hold and thought of creative strategies to turn that land into cash flow? I have heard people making a killing with airstreams/rvs on land and airbnb, renting the land out for wedding receptions/ceremonies, leasing to hunters/farmers, etc. I have heard a lot of ways you can cash flow land. I am wondering the difficulty of making this happen with zoning. I am guessing that a call to the county is all I would need before purchasing the land? I also would like to know if there is anyone out there that buys land for the purpose of holding it and thinking of creative ways to create cash flow with it. I would love to speak with you. Thanks for your time reading.

I currently live in CA and planned to get licensed. Right now I am done with the California Real Estate Principle and Practice and finishing up Law to get my California Real Estate License. But, It just came up that I plan to move to Texas in the next couple years. My parents do plan to retire there and I would like to move out there a long with them. (Also help them find a house when the time comes). Does anyone know if I can continue getting my CA real estate license and then transfer it to Texas? I am about to reach out to the TREC about this but I was wondering if I can still get my license in CA get experience and then transfer to TX when my family moves. Might be an easy question but I cannot find a clear answer. I have found that TX is not reciprocal. But then I hear you can. So I am confused.
