@Paul Sandhu I definitely agree with you about the education aspect! College is caught up to teach you how to get a job. Thats all they taught us is how to become a great hotel manager. Thank you Paul for the info!! I will dig deeper on the cities I am interested in!

@Lucas Carl Thank you Lucas for the info. I will dig deeper online. I am actually looking to move back east. But, most likely Carolina Coast (Wilmington or Myrtle Beach), Charlotte, or Raleigh are the cities I see myself living in. Still have months to decide before I make the move. Any other advice you can give a newbie about STR's?

I am a newbie looking to house hack and get into STR's in the future. I have a passion for hospitality and I am graduating from SJSU soon with a hospitality degree. My question today is how can I find out if a house for sale is residential or commercially zoned? Is there a source that can make it easier for me to tell the difference? I do want to invest in STR's in the future that allow me not to live on site. I know a lot of regulations are being passed in cities that are strict. Then I hear that there are cities that have none yet, but are cracking down. So to summarize this whole thing, how can I find out if a property is residential zoned or commercial zoned? I am looking at properties daily trying to get myself familiar to see if its a good deal but I never know if I can buy it to short term rent on its own. Thanks, anything helps as I am learning!

Ive been following and listening to these guys for awhile now, listening to their youtube channels. But skeptical to partner with them. Does anyone know if these guys are legit to partner with?? I live in CA where it is hard to find deals, and I am looking for a partner and mentor that can show me the ropes about OOS investing. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you.

@Matthew McNeil Yes! I want to see what people would do with that amount. What would you do?

Thanks everyone for responding. Let me paraphrase and say I do not have 200k in the bank account. It is just a number I would like to start with. I want to see what people would do in real estate with that amount. Thanks again for the responses!

I have been researching a lot of properties but I want to know I am searching on the right spots. I have been primarily searching on Zillow. But to be able to type in the numbers into the Bigger Pockets Calculators I am left dry with info. Zillow does not show a lot of what the Calculators ask such as the expenses etc. I am wondering where you search and how you come up with the numbers for a property analysis to see if its a good investment? Where is a good place to find properties? And how do I find out accurate data to put into the calculators?
