Post: Effective Lead Sources?

Hi BP!

I recently became an agent in NC and I am very excited to get the ball rolling. I have been researching ways agents generate leads and I see that it looks like zillow and Facebook/google ads are pretty common ways. I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with any of these sources, or if someone has another path that has worked well for them?

Thanks!

Matt

Hi Aaron, thank you for the insight! I have a sales background, but ultimately had my success because of my ability to not "sell" but rather relate so I am glad to hear that is right approach in this industry as well! And thank you for the offer, I really appreciate that and will certainly keep that in mind. I myself might want to end up closer to the coast one day, it's beautiful out there!

Hi Tehane! Good luck with the Real Estate course! I just finished everything about two weeks ago and took my class at Superior in Charlotte, so I know what you're going through. With that said, I am no expert but I know there are a ton of a different offices in the Davidson Cornelius area so I would suggest reaching out to a few of them and seeing if you can talk to one of their agents about part-time to start off with. Many people start off part-time from my understanding so I am sure they could connect you with an agent that started in a similar position as you are in.

~ TILA (Truth In Lending Act) has a right called "right of rescission" that allows the buyer to cancel their transaction with the lender within three days of closing. Also referred to as a buyer's remorse clause.

~ RESPA requires lenders to provide loan applicants a statement of a good faith estimate of closing costs within three days of filling out a loan application. The standard form used is known as a loan estimate.

That's very helpful, thank you! I have the NC exam this Friday and am trying to get all those little things down.

@Mike Dymski that is a great point, unfortunately having worked with many 401k plans, it’s not uncommon for individuals to take a loan from their employer plan and then struggle with paying the loan back which either leads to them taking another loan or turning the loan into a distribution and having to pay the penalty plus a large source of additional income for the year that might alter their tax bracket.
