Hi @Brandon Michael Van Allen Check out the events page on BP and meetup.com to look for local meetups in your area, this is the best way to meet other like minded people. I would also check out your local REIA clubs.

Hi @Andrea Cocolin This completely depends on your goals and the niche you choose to invest in. To me it sounds like either SFR's or MF. I would start by attending your local REIA meetings and other meetups which you should be able to find on the BP events page or on meetup.com. If there are no meetups in your local area then you should start one yourself. Yes, start one yourself! You would be surprised how many people out there are looking for exactly what you are looking for. From there I would attend seminars that focus on the same niche you would like to focus on. Hope this helps and good luck on your journey!

@Jay Helms I can completely relate with your post and thank you for sharing!  I would consider myself on complete introvert and in the past I completely avoided any type of event that would require me speaking in front of a group or being around people I don't know.  It is still very difficult for me to speak to someone that I am just meeting for the first time.  However, I agree with @Tom Shallcross about taking your first step out of your comfort zone.  After you do this once, then twice, then a third time you will begin to feel more comfortable and start to make friends and acquaintances.  That is how I got started and just about 12 months later I now host 2 meetups and am starting a podcast.  Ultimately, it is all in your head and you need to focus on your goals and not that voice in your head telling you to be afraid.  I know it's easier said than done but when you focus on your why and your end goal you will find it necessary and much easier to deal with your anxiety.  The feeling never quite goes away but you learn to deal with it.  I hope this helps and I would be happy to talk to you more about it, just send me a message.  Good luck and you can do it!

@Maxwell Milholland I would start with attending local REIA meetings and other meetups that you can find on the BP events page or on meetup.com. You will meet a lot of great people and start to get a feel for where people are looking. I would also say to contact a few brokers in the market and setup meetings with them, have them tour you around the city and you will learn a lot quickly. Good luck!

@Mike Hoherchak I completely agree with @Quito Keutla and would also say to focus on a niche and stick with it, it's very easy to get caught up in the shiny object game.  Make sure you have solid buying criteria and stick to those criteria.  The people who get in trouble are the ones who bend on their criteria to make a "deal" work because it's difficult to find something that actually fits their original criteria.  With the market where it is, it's important to stay disciplined and as long as you buy right you should be ok.

@John Chason in my opinion it would be Joe Fairless, Rod Khlief and Michael Blank in that order but it all depends on what niche you focus on.  Ours is multifamily and all 3 of these guys are great.

@Jay Williams I completely agree with @Greg Scott about surrounding yourself with good people who have experience.  I would also add to just surround yourself with like minded people to start.  You are the average of the 5 people you hang around the most so surround yourself with people that do what you want to do.  We host several meetups in the LA and SoCal areas that focus on out of state apartment investing, let me know if you're interested.  You can also go to the events page on BP and find events near you.  Good luck!

@David Whitaker I had experience with SFR investing and I was looking to learn more about multifamily, raising money and syndication.
