Yes, I heard very little about this. I contacted four other landlords who was very thankful for me giving them a heads up. Three of them had no clue about it. $100 per day fine could add up very quickly. That's per property. No idea if they will try to hold people to that. I think I would try to fight it if I hadn't heard anything about it. Does anyone know what the time frame for getting future purchased homes registered?

Mine me asking what part of town this is in? I'm in Louisville also. Sounds like the guy has mental or drug problems. Super strange
@ JustinBrown Hey Justin, correct you cannot register a property you do not own yet. Just make sure you do not forget once you take ownership of the property https://louisvilleky.gov/government/codes-regulations/rental-registry Here is a link to the registration site
I live in Louisville, KY and they ( the city) just recently started to require all rental properties to be registered with the city. I have spoken with a few other landlords and no one really knows the purpose. Its easy to do online and is free( at least for now). I've already registered mine but if you don't do it by March 1st you could be fined $100 a day. I'm assuming they're are trying to catch people dodging taxes????

Yes, I'm more interested in long term investing. I was thinking purchase three more and throw all the cash flow at the one house till it's paid off. As far as repairs I have money set aside for that and when I rent out the house that I'm living in currently that will be about 900 a month since the house is paid off

Ok so I bought my first sfr last year. Everything is going great. So this year I plan on purchasing a new house for myself and house hacking the one I live in now. It is free and clear. I have money for the down payment on the new house. I think I know what to do but want to see what everyone else would do. The rental that I currently have clears about 350 after mortgage. I will have the funds to either own that one free and clear or have the money for approximately 3 more down payments for 3 new properties. What would you do?
First was a Mls this year. Rehabbed and it's been rented out for 6 months. Good tenants so far and everything is going well

Sounds extremely cheap to me. My wife has a salon and charges the other girls 100 a week.
