@Rob Bergeron any new details about what is being done to overturn this. I was at the

Newburg community center meeting where I didn’t hear a lot. Found out that everyone is super upset about it. I wasn’t able to make the woodhaven Thursday night meeting. I heard there was suppose to be a PAC to get this overturned and some legal action. I haven’t been able to get any info on that yet though.

@Rob Bergeron are these going to be section 8 type inspections or will they be more of just a safety check? I’ve heard both ways. Don’t really know what to expect. I’m a small landlord with only 2 houses. I feel like these are nice houses but sure they will find something. My tenants don’t want to deal with this either. Hoping the state steps in and stops this. I feel like it is a money grab and the gov overstepping. Any thoughts on the state stepping in and stopping this like they did with the section 8 mandate?

So how do you other landlords feel about the new mandatory city inspections taking place in Louisville, KY? Any chance the state comes in with a bill to cancel this ordinance? Big money grab from the city.

@Joseph Beilke 1920 is most people’s favorite. We are expanding ( just like every other distillery). Bigger distillery equals more bourbon.

Well, you’re welcome! Distiller here. I make the Woodford and Old Forester.

@Kevin Hart

Will the new inspections basically just be an arm of section 8? Will the inspections be similar to section 8? I currently only have 2 single families. They are nice houses but I don’t know how involved the inspections are. My plan was to buy more rentals but I dont know if that will be in Louisville now. How does the southern Indiana market compare?

@Jeffrey Evans. Well, I don’t really know any details yet. I was hoping to find out from someone who knows.

So, Louisville metro council just passed an ordinance to start inspecting all rentals. I’m a small investor with 2 single family homes. Does anyone know the details of these inspections? What I’ve read so far hasn’t given much detail. Both of my homes are in pretty good shape but I am not looking forward to someone nitpicking them. I feel like this is an overreach and a money grab by our local government.

Post: Lead paint inspections

Hello, I have 2 rentals. Louisville, KY is looking at mandating lead paint inspections in all rentals. One of my rentals was built in 1956. I have no knowledge of lead paint being present in this house but curious because of the age of the house.

Has anyone gone through the inspections before? If it was present how did you address the problem? I know there are paints that are suppose to lock in the lead paint. How much am I looking at spending if lead is present? I have long term tenants in this house and not sure I know how to handle this when the time comes. Any advice is appreciated.

Hello, Louisville KY is looking to start enforcing lead pint testing on rentals. I only have 2 rentals but one of those was built in 1956. I have no knowledge of lead paint ever being used but just curious because of the age of the house.

Just wondering if anyone here has had to deal with the lead paint removal or encapsulation. I have long term tenants living in the house. Just trying to plan for the worst. Can anyone chime in on the process they used? The estimated cost for a 1250 sq foot house?
