Larry, it sounds like you are on the right track and are figuring out what is working for you and what is not. Continue to refine and adjust your plan as needed...you seem to be on your way. Good luck to you, and if you cannot find something you are looking for here on BP, just ask, someone will point you in the right direction.

Forward progress...just keep it going!

Welcome to BP Leah. I cannot directly help with your question but one thing that might help is setting up Keyword Alerts for things like Dallas, DFW, etc. You will find more members from the area to connect with, and hopefully some of them will be able to help.

Make sure you introduce yourself to the community via the New Member Introduction section of the forum. Good luck, and let us know if you cannot find something you are looking for here on BP.

Post: The power of intention. Any weight to it?

Thanks for the explanation Michael. I would probably need to think about this a bit longer but off the top of my head...

Intention is clearly important. If you do not desire something, your chances of getting it are much lower. However, intention is only one factor. Too many people want to break huge complex issues and thoughts (the meaning of life, being successful, etc) into very basic theories...it is impossible. There are far too many variables, uncontrollable events, etc for things to be broken down so easily.

This is why I find such books to be a bit flaky. If people would spend more time on actionable items instead of getting themselves pumped up with motivational books, I believe they would have a better shot at being successful.

And on a basic level, who cares if you are driving a Saturn Vue and someone else is driving a BMW, I know so many people who are "successful" and miserable. To be happy is to be balanced, and many people forget that as they reach for the stars.

Post: Too Many Gurus

Too many people cannot get past the idea of making the quick and easy buck. It has always been that way, it will always be that way, and because of that we will always have people making money by offering that exact thing. There are people out there who have spent enough money to have amassed a nice chunk of wealth had they only invested it, instead they have bought into many guru programs offering easy money (real estate and other industries).

Not all "gurus" are bad, but if people would put as much time, effort and excitement into investing and learning as they do guru programs, many more people would be successful.

I do not get much from the rah-rah books, maybe I already have enough. In fact, every time I have started to read one I have put it down and thought "this is ridiculous". Can you explain the power of intention Michael Spindler?

I second what Jon has said. It can be really difficult to find someone who doesn't know you at all to take you under their wing, especially right away. I got started with info and help from BP members, and have since been able to find several local people I can talk to when I need help.

If you are active on BP and get active in your community, you will meet people willing to work with and help you.

Welcome to BP Chris. I love the idea of using multiple strategies (flipping and rentals), in fact that is exactly what we are doing. I think you will find BP to be a great place to learn and network, so jump in and get involved.

Don't forget to add a profile picture and make sure you let us know if you can't find something you are looking for on BP, someone will point you in the right direction.
