True, you did not seek advise, but your thread begged for it.

And to answer your question, no, I cannot beat 3 robberies in one rehab. Luckily, BP members do not always stick to the question in a thread, or much of the incredible info on the site would have never been submitted.

It sounds like $1000 isn't that important to you. You can get a portable alarm system for less than that and you can at least attempt to deter someone from stealing your materials. I am assuming you have taken measures in between these issues to prevent this from happening...that is $1000 out of your pocket, and it sounds like it is only a matter of time before it happens again.

Welcome to BP Rose! The two trades are definitely different (but very related), so you will have a heads up over many others looking to get started on the investment side. Good luck!

Rob, checkout the podcasts! The guests share how they got started, and many of them started out with very little money, so you might find the stories inspirational. Good luck...and don't forget to add a profile picture.

James Vermillion I'm not sure if we want the SFH or multis for the rental portfolio. I'm probably going to stay away from the fix and flip because I'm not a handiman, unless a great deal falls into my lap. I would of course have to do plenty of research. I just wanted people's opinions on what they would do with 40k

Good deal, but don't let the handyman thing hold you back...I am not a handyman and we are getting ready to start our 10th flip.
