Welcome to BP Bryan. March 2014 will be here before you know it! I spent almost a year learning about real estate (mostly here on BiggerPockets), so spend as much time as you can learning and developing a plan.

A good starting point is the Ultimate Beginner's Guide , it is a great overview of real estate investing. Please let us know if you cannot find the information you are looking for, someone will point you in the right direction!

Delays closings are always a pain...HUD just delayed the closing of a property we were supposed to close on this week, so I feel your pain. Take the extra time you have to review your numbers and schedule and make sure you have all the contractors lined up you are going to need. Good luck!
