I think this comes down to your personality. Some people simply cannot focus when they are in their living space, they require an office dedicated to working. As J pointed out, other people are easily able to focus from home. Personally, I am able to accomplish everything I need from the house.

There are some good takeaways (about automation, creating systems, etc) but that was about it for me, although many people seem to have loved it.

I read these things for the small takeaways I can get from it. If you get a few things out of it, I'd say its not time that was wasted.

I pretty much agree @Anson Young , but there are so many books out there that you can get a lot of takeaways from, and you do not have to read through as much B.S....well thats how I feel about it anyways.

City Data provides a lot of the information you are looking for, although I cannot speak for the accuracy.
