@Account Closed ,

I always enjoy talking shop with you, so glad to hear you should be able to make it next time. I have a family-related event too that weekend, so I’ll pick another date if the other weekdays are flexible. Nice that you have the skill/experience to be able to help out your family with their venture. Best of luck in their success! Btw, is anyone regularly organizing BP meetups down on the peninsula? I know there are some REIA meetings.. I’m planning on organizing a BP meetup each place I am traveling for work. So wanted to check what’s there first. We just had a little Stockton meetup last night (thanks for coming out Erin A, Kyle J, and Kevin Auyong!), and I plan on setting one up in Santa Rosa in Feb (in addition to the monthly Oakland meetup), and in the San Jose area when I am staying in Santa Cruz in April.

@Ralph E.

It was a great group of people (probably about 25ish) like last time, and I definitely came away with a lot of good ideas, contacts, and renewed motivation to step up my game. I’ve been working out of town a lot, but am usually back by Thursday night, which is why I did it then (and Troy Fisher wants to keep it off of Tuesdays because of San Jose meetups). I don’t think Fridays work great for people’s personal schedules.. So when Minh and I aren’t on vacation, I’ll slip it right in there..! lol. It gets a little tricky, but I’ll do my best. We'll see you then!

@Sam McClellan

I’m all about FHA if you don’t have a lot of capital, although it’s not as amazingly sweet as it was before they changed the length of mortgage insurance. But most just refinance out once it appreciates, as long as the rate still makes sense. Even with the mortgage insurance, look at the all-in rate over 30 years relative to a historical chart, and I think you’ll be very happy when you’re looking at future rates a few years from now.

I’ll definitely get ahold of you next time I’m working in the FiDi. Probably won’t be until late Feb or March (not in our office very often) – but I’ll get ahold of you when I find out.. And hopefully see you sooner at our (soon to be announced) Feb meetup.

@Adam Hofmann

Bring them!

Welcome Sam . There are a lot of super helpful people and great advice on this site! I’m a ‘fix and hold’ investor from the Bay Area in CA, and loving it! A lot of others doing flips, wholesaling, notes, everything.. A few tips..

You can tag people by typing @ before you type their name, then clicking their name when it pops up at the bottom of the message box. You can click on the ‘vote’ button if you like someone's post or is helpful, and there are ‘awards’ to earn on your profile. The "Learn" link across the top navigation bar has lots of great info, and most importantly, the BP members! Welcome to BP, and good luck on your investments!
