Hello all,

I am new to BiggerPockets and I am excited to invest on my first property. Since the prices are so high in California, I though I would look at another place like Indianapolis, IN. The only issue is finding dependable people out of state. I would rather invest in California where I can oversee the property easily, but the prices are up the roof. If there is an investor nearby that I can connect with, I would love to learn as much as I can from his/her experience. I am willing to shadow or even partner with someone that knows the ropes. Thanks in advance!

Hi @Account Closed, I agree that their might be some opportunities here in California. Part of the reason I considered Indy was because the amount of money needed to put on down payment as well as other states like Indiana are more landlord friendly rather than California, which tented to be more renter friendly. But I agree with you there are still areas in California that still have the opportunity to make money. I just have to research those cities here.

I am looking to invest in Indianapolis, IN and since I would be investing out of state, I am wondering if any of you know a dependable property management companies. I am looking for honest, dependable, and has great communications.

I have an investment home that is worth 430K. Its equity has doubled in the last four years. Should I take a home equity loan to take money out to invest in a new property? I would really like to by a MFR, but I am not sure it that's a good Idea. I am looking to invest In Indianapolis, IN, since the market in California is so expensive. Any suggestions?

Hi @Lee Smith, Do you send out listing, in which I can look at or do I look for listings on my own then narrow down a property and ask you to get involved for the other services you provide?

Hi @Steve Endress, that is exactly what I am looking for. I am looking for A and B properties in areas where there are good schools.  I am looking to invest in one property under 150K in those areas I mentioned. If you have some insight, I would love to learn what you know about investing in Indy.

Hi all, I am looking to invest in Indy and would like to find a team to help me purchase, repair and manage the property. If any of you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them. Also, if you have work with an investment team like Marshall Reddick or Pinnacle Investment properties, let me know what your experience was. This would be the first property I buy out of state, so I am looking for recommended, dependable people. Thanks in advance!

Hi @Randy Smith, I am also new at REI and I am currently reading Brandon Turner's book. I am curious in seeing your Excel worksheet and see if it can help me analyze some properties. Are you only looking at investing in your local area, or are you looking for properties out of state. Depending on what your local market looks like it might be best to look at a different market . I am also dealing with a high priced market here in the bay area. I am now looking at investing in the Midwest. Anyhow, good luck and happy investing.

Hi all, I am from California and  looking to invest in Indianapolis, IN. I would like to meet agents, property managers, as well as investment asset management specialist. If you are someone that works with investors, I would like to get in contact with you to see the numbers look good. Also, I would like to know what are others thought about investing in that area.

@Tom Unger are you looking to invest in another state where the numbers might work better?
