@Account Closed ,

I'm not familiar with any US based books, sorry, but Ian Szabo has two really good books in the Canadian flipping market... I'm sure a lot of the info would be transferable (not all of course) and would also offer a different perspective. I hope this is helpful and not just distracting.

Hi @Irina Smirnova ,

Welcome to BP! It's a great resource and community indeed!

If your overseas interest includes Japan, I'd be glad to over any assistance or advice.

Best of luck,

Walter

@Michael Alston

Japan allows for foreigners to own outright so no era issue there. The tax, you really wouldn't have to worry about until you build up your portfolio to such a point where your income is at a reportable level, usually after 3 or 4 years or a larger than average portfolio, as most purchase costs are claimable and carry forward, but of course I would recommend you confirm that with your accountant.

I'd be happy to have a conversation with you or answer any questions you might have about owning property in Japan.

Good luck!

I don't have that issue, either, and @Jean Bolger I hope you're able to get it remedied soon... but what prompted me to write was to say how impressive it is to see @Joshua Dorkin 's reply to the concern within 5 minutes!! That's what's so great about BP! Not only does the community pitch in to help, but the actual site admin's are right on top of things, too! Kudos to Joshua and all at BP!

Hey @Matt E. ! Your line about the "no earthquakes" made me chuckle - such a valid concern here! Let me know how the close goes on your deal in Wisconsin. Obviously having the team on the ground will be the key. Look forward to hearing about it and chatting when you come back after the summer!

Cheers!
