@Robert Espenson I would just get some quotes and just have it removed and do the right thing. It’s such a small amount it shouldn’t be expensive at all.

@Rita Davis It spends on what you are calling the soffit. If there is only damage on the soffit then you can get someone later, that doesn’t effect any work done on the roof. If there is also damage on the fascia then that is something  that should be done when they do the roof, it is easier that way.  Do you have any photos?

@Wendy L. Thanks

@Basit Siddiqi Sorry to hear that.  I wish you would of brought that to my attention instead of seeing this on a forum.  This is the first time hearing about this.  I have done hundreds of rehabs/jobs and have never had any complaints.  I have met several investors off this site and still currently work with some.

@Laura Kusto Like @Jay Compton mentioned above have a pan with a float switch installed. That is code in Florida, not sure how old your system is but I would think it is code there as well.

@Kelly Conrad Is it possible that you could just rent a heated warehouse for a week or however long it would take for you to do?

@Isacc Lightbourn You can have them give you a lien release once they are paid but no contractor would ever sign anything before they are paid.  It is pretty hard for a sub contractor to put a lien on a property because they usually don’t have a contract with anyone.

@Wilfredo Fernandez Is all the work complete?  If it is you should be able to call and schedule the final inspection yourself. Just call your county building department and they should help you out.

@Greg Moore You will need to get a builders risk policy. You can get them from American integrity like mentioned above or Tapco.
