So I had an idea that could potentially replace my original plan of living in a multifamily home and I wanted to know if it would be viable or not. I was thinking that instead of living in the property that I invested in, I could just continue to live with my parent and rent out the unit that I would've moved into. That is if my mom doesn't kick me out as soon as I'm 18 haha.

Thanks Jeremy and joe this really helps! I've been thinking about buying a triplex or quadraplex as my first investment. And I've been trying to learn as much as possible without burning myself out.

Hey! I'm 17 and I really want to learn about real estate and I've pretty much been able to find something to answer most of my questions but not this one. Is there a type of property that is best to invest in when starting out? If so tell me why! Thankyou!
