Home address is a bad idea IMO. If you have a company name, DBA, you can use that, use a phone number and your name. If someone doesn't have a company, I've seen and had business cards with just a (my) name and phone number.

Why? If I hand someone a card they all ready know who I am, what I do and I can jot down other information if needed.

I can give someone my name and number for various things, a house, an office building, any business aspect, to some real looker at the club or some guy selling a bull dozer, its handy.

If someone gets ticked off, I don't want them driving by my house egging the place! I also don't want them to know which house to rob. Home and business are two different things. :)

You don't want you personal address on ANYTHING!  Remember:  God is great, beer is good and people are CRAZY!

I don't think an address is necessary on a business card.  If you want an address to use for your business, get a mailbox at the UPS store or Mailboxes Etc.  Those both have physical addresses and looks more legit than a POB.

WOW @Ben Leybovich !  That is awesome!!  Congrats!  Excellent choice on naming your son, too.

I would like to know more about the mechanics of this deal.

Did the 25% private note act as a down payment to the portfolio lender?

So I got 25% private note and 70% portfolio note, what about the remaining 5%?

What did your $5300 pay for?

Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi @Jonathan Thomas !!  Welcome to BP from up north in Marysville,WA!!

You've got a great business mind to be able to wrap your head around investing at such a young age and have GOALS!  Amazing!  I think at nineteen, my goal was working hard at my job to make money to buy gas with,  soup up my car, hang out with friends and chase girls......on a daily basis.  No long term in sight back then!

Three words of advice:  Bigger Pockets Podcast

I can't believe @Brandon Turner failed to mention that LOL!!

Welcome to BP from another Seattle area member!  Good for you finding this site!

Have you listened to the Bigger Pockets Podcasts?  I love the Bigger Pockets Podcasts.  @Joshua Dorkin  and @Brandon Turner kill it! If you don't have an Apple device (I have an Android phone), you can listen to them on Stitcher. I drive from Marysville to North Seattle every day, so I turn my car into a REI education center on wheels!

Aaron, I make it a goal to post in the forums at least twice a day.  Often it is welcoming new members, and responding to key word alter topics, or trolling the forums looking for something I can contribute my perspective to.  Finding other investors who are quite close and inviting them to lunch or coffee your treat is a great way to get yourself out there too.

 Thank you for that!
