@Chiante Crayton are you planning to do property management with your license?

@Dan Carbone I was with a balloon franchise initially.  Problem with franchises is they're all independently owned and operated. Some may be great. Some not so much.

@Russell Brazil (at exp) after you cap at $16000, you pay $250 per transaction until you reach ICON (20 transactions or volume threshold if luxury). At ICON you get $16000 cap back in stock and transaction fee goes down to $75. There is also a broker review fee of $25/transaction and E&O of $40/transaction, capped at $500 per anniversary year. The monthly fee include all company trainging, enterprise, skyslope, support staff, and kvcore.

@Dan Carbone  gotcha.  I don't have any insight on Sotheby's but I am with exp.  I would interview multiple brokerages to see what is a fit for you.  I personally switched to exp specifically because of the split, cap, mentor program for new(er) agents, training, and cloud model.  Stock awards and rev share were just an added bonus.  Also, you can do up to 3 personal deals a year without paying a split, just a transaction fee.

Are you going to be focused on real estate sales or just personal flips?

Again, I didn't take this off topic.

@Will Barnard I wasn't referring to that comment.  Also, I'm replying to your comment on this thread.

@Will Barnard  just a heads up, the comment you deleted wasn't made by an exp agent.

Charlie is right that exp provides the flexibility of being cloud based, however NJ is very split among 9 MLS's. You can work any area you want so long as you pay for the appropriate MLS's. I'm in Central Jersey and currently belong to the 3 in this area.

@Rhonnie Smith as an agent you are an independent contractor.  Also eXp Realty requires their agents to be a Realtor®.

@Carl Ohai eXp is great. There is a revenue share opportunity that could be considered MLM however no one is required to participate. It’s a cloud brokerage that is in all 50 states and expanding internationally all under one roof.
