@Osvaldo Guerra, there are too many nice places to house hack. I think you'll get stuck in analysis paralysis if you think about it like that. I would instead focus on where you ACTUALLY want to live. Because even if it's a more expensive market, you're house hacking, so you're going to be subsidizing your living expenses anyway. I am a 2x house hacker just north of Boston. I love it. It's not cheap, but it's totally worth it for me.

Hey @Jacob DiGiovanni I am a 2x house hacker in Beverly, MA. Think about taking that as your leap? I highly recommend and always willing to chat about my experiences.

Hey @Eddie Miretsky, I am in MA myself, but in the Northshore area. @Andrew Freed has a great meetup in Worcester you should attend. I am a big believer that someone should start by investing in their own backyard, but seeing as MA is very expensive, you may opt for somewhere else.

@Renee Pohle I am located in Beverly, MA, and I am on my second house hack here. That's been the best strategy for me, and most people will say it's the best rookie strategy. I feel your pain. When my wife and I started looking, Everett was as close as we could afford to the city, and we ended up focusing most of our time in the North Shore area. Definitely still expensive but it's been a great decision for us. We love where we live, have the space we need for our newborn, and have someone else paying for our assets. Have you thought about that approach? Happy to connect and talk about my experience.

I was shopping hard for an OOS opportunity last summer in GA and honestly grateful I went 0/15 on offers. I prefer to self manage because its insanely cheaper and honestly not a huge time commitment. It will take me longer to scale but I also know that MA is an amazing state when it comes to appreciation.

@Greg Friedman where are you located? Is this a SF residence?

Hey @Greg Friedman, that sounds like a blast. I live just north of Boston and own two duplexes. I'll never hire a PM while I am local but moving abroad is a different ballgame. Could you hire a friend or family?

Welcome @Damien Davis! I actually grew up pretty close to Hartford and all my family still lives there but I am house hacking north of Boston and will likely stay here permanently. Would you consider house hacking again in the Hartford area? Prices are decent.

I've had nothing but good experiences with Gilmore and Gilmore. They're mainly in Danvers but have a Boston spot to.
