I'm starting a rehab project with a new JV partner and was curious as to what the consensus is in taking a life insurance policy out on the JV partner to insure my interest in the deal since this particular property is held in their LLC name which is single member.

I have a Joint Venture agreement between my LLC and an individual for a rental property that we are acquiring. It is outlined in the JV agreement that the property will be held in the name of my LLC.

My insurance man is telling me that my JV partner can't be listed on the insurance because according to him he has no equitable interest in the property?

How are you guys handling this scenario when insuring your joint venture acquired properties.

Hello all, I just had an interesting thing happen to me and I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what they did to handle it.

I received notification from the agent that I'm buying a rental property through that the closing was to be held at a particular title company this Friday at 4. The problem is this is NOT the title company that was specifically requested and agreed to in the purchase contract. I asked the agent where is my EMD then since I made it out to the company that WAS in the purchase contract and she informed me that my EMD was at the company I requested but they were closing at a different title company that they use!!

I called the title company that the agent set this all up with and they said that that real estate company is a customer of theirs and there is nothing i can do i need to call that agent. The agent is yet to respond to my attempts and I sent a message to her broker as well.
