@Ronan Donnelly Hey Ronan welcome to BP! Its nice to see other investors from Queens. I live in Bayside, I would love to get together at some point and talk about real estate investing. One suggestion I would make is read read and read some more, there is so much vital information that this site provides that you can not find in any book.

@Peter Gaston

Hey Peter that is great news that you have a meeting with a potential mentor/investor. @Michael Jobe gave some sound advice, just be your self build a relationship with him. In business and life everyone has to take that first step to getting where they want to be. The man you are meeting with was once in your shoes, one of the greatest ways for "successful" people to give back is to pay it forward. So I am sure if you are genuine, don't act desperate, and soak up all the advice he gives he would be glad to help you out. If for some reason he does not have the time there are thousands of mentors on this site who can help answer any questions you have. Best of luck!

@Richard Decoste

It all depends, when you say large multifamily in Brooklyn what does that mean? How many units and in what part of Brooklyn?

Hey Amanda it is just like anything in life, if you want it bad enough you will get it! Don't get discouraged but do take into account what @Javier Diaz

said it take a lot of work. The reality shows make it look simple, but if you want anything you can get it!

I just want to give a shout out to the newest bigger pockets moderator @Darren Sager !!! Many of you know him from the site and as a guest on podcast 48. Darren recently went way out of his way (as he often does) to help me get a position at the new and up coming Keller Willams Commercial real estate department at 425 Park Ave. I started this past week and absolutely love it, I know it will give me a ton of insight into commercial real estate seeing that I one day plan on owning many commercial properties. So if you have not already met him I suggest you become friends with him, he's a great guy who knows a lot about real estate investing. Again thank you so much Darren!!! Looking forward to he bigger pockets meet up in NYC, Hopefully we will see all you guys there!!!

@Andre Snaggs Hey Andre welcome! Like you said there is a ton of information. There are many people here with great advice. Some people you have spoken to and have anwswered this thread that I would link up with in this area. @Darren Sager is one of them. If you have not yet I would listen to podcast 48 its one of my personal faorites. Also if your looking to invest out of state another great guy in the area who invests away from home is @Joe Fairless . Best of luck Andre if you need anything don't be afraid to inbox me.

@Javier Diaz Hey Javier great post, I am live in Queens over in Bayside. Meetup is great for networking. Networking is a huge part of the game. I have been looking for a great real estate group in NYC area as well and have not yet found the perfect one. I believe, on this site we have more than enough people to get a bigger pockets meet up in NYC. I have heard they have done them before but I am not sure if there is another one scheduled. I would love to be a part of a bigger pockets meet up in the city, I have connections with many venues across Manhattan that would love a group of professionals hosting an event at their location.

Hey BP, I had a busy December as I am sure many of you did. I just wanted to start the new year out with some new goals, strategies, and habits. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share some of the goals they have for the new year, the ways the plan to reach them? what BP members are going to do thats different this year than last year that will get them one step closer to financial freedom. I would like to see if my goals are in line with other members, it can be in someone's darkest hour that a few words of encouragement can help some one continue to reach their goals instead of giving up.
