@Orly Howard

Check out the Hudson valley reia.

Hv-reia

There are members doing air bnb in Kingston.

I'm not one of them.

My generic advice would be to make sure you have a secondary exit strategy.

As long as they keep going further towards socialism, I am not optimistic.

Insane taxes,deep regulations, rent control, tenant friendly laws.

No thanks. People will come back, but it can not succeed without a middle class.

It has a billionaire class and a few million paupers.

I grew up there. I won't be back. Its sad but they are voting for their destruction..

This seems like a setup. .

Don't write anything that you don't want to speak about in housing court.

@Tommy Cheng

Who owns the road? Who plows, maintains the road?

Is there a hoa or association? Dues

Do you have deeded access?

As for directions, something like landmarks, the closest address etc can be used. More important are the details of the situation.

@Jay Hinrichs

I've seen targeted tax relief, but I was daydreaming about buying some acreage with a cabin for myself, but without the responsibility for taxes.

Considering northern Maine, the tree program can result in very low taxes, but never zero...

I know that some states have no income tax. Some don't have sales tax. Is there any place in the states that doesn't tax real estate?

If so, where?

I am aware that different markets tax at higher or lower rates. Just wondering if any don't tax property at all.

Welcome to the area. I have 2 fishkill doors and 2 in the city of newburgh.

I attend many of the Meetup in the area. Check on Meetup dot com, or Facebook to find the ones that don't post here.
