Excel is not free, but pretty cheap and more robust, but if you want free then try Google Docs, it has an excel-like feature, plus you can access in any web-browser.

You could record the sessions, and offer for free to attendees, and dare I say as a product download to people not going.

You could try putting a QR code on your business card.
