@Jeffrey Allen wow, that’s amazing that you planning to transition. Do you think you will be able to replace engineering salary by then? Wondering how long you been working on engineering?

@John Todderud thank you John. Are you still working via W-2 then in the area of study?

Thank you Rick. Wondering if you can comment more as to what you mean by “ taking an active role mean”

thanks!

For those of you that have an engineering degree I am wondering what was your progression from engineering to real estate and if you still continue with your W-2 job or transitioned partially or completely away from W-2 job or engineering

@Deisy P. I am married but my husband is not really into real estate. My property management wasted $10k and felt so trapped and disappointed by real estate and still am disappointed, but I am getting better about it now and don’t want this incident to change everything for me. This was because I never intended to manage myself and wanted to have someone else manage and having suffered so much from this property management really discouraged me. I felt trapped because I would call and they would not even respond and couldn’t even cancel control for awhile and they would just keep replenishing my 500 balance.

@Nic S. It was my first experience and never had imagined would be that bad. They had no clue and had six different people call me at 6 different times about the same thing and then came to find out that the tenant still didn’t have a mailbox key after they had been living there for a month. I had no control since in had no right to approve anything under 500 and once they spend $500 they just replenish and start over. All the repairs were no value add but they were adding up to about $1000/month. I felt like a captive with my own home. Then the tenant also stopped paying them. They started paying me as soon as I took over. Didn’t blame the tenant. The were suffering as much as I was. The common denominator between us was Real Property Management Solutions.

@Ryan Copeland they charged me 7 k for turnover to just do touch paint and change a few blinds. Then the tenant came and we’re charging me $1000/month on random repairs such as $500 to fix a burner, $500 to unplug tub, basically fixing the same things multiple times and no value added.

Then I paid another $1000 for breaking contract. This experience almost made me lose passion for real estate. I always wanted someone to manage them and now realize that may not work.

They had no regard to my budget and once you since contract I felt like a captain. They replenish their $500 red serve as if money falling down from trees

@Nic S. I am hoping it’s only this year. I lost a lot on one of the house rentals this years. I had a terrible property management that wasted me 10k. Thank God ended contract with them since I felt trapped.

@Dennis Wayne wondering where you purchased and if that is local or out of state

@Andrew Zannotti wondering where you purchased all these and are these out of state?
