I've used the app Thumbtack and had a lot of success.  Found my electrician, tile guy and window installer through them.  https://www.thumbtack.com/

@Jake Hottenrott Thanks Jake.  I'll check out the accountants on the site and read your blog post.  Appreciate the response.

Hi All,

Hope you had a happy holiday. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good accountant to use to handle both my real estate, LLC and personal taxes? I'm using QuickBooks online right now.

Thanks!

I used the MACU90 program also.  Took about the same amount of time as @Ryan Anderson.  They are in no rush to process it but it is SUCH a good way to get into something.  I was able to get into a duplex and with the money I didn't have to put down was able to put in some upgrades that should pay off in increased rents.  Definitely want to take advantage of that program a second time.

Two local REIA sites are:

http://slreia.com/

https://www.utahreia.org/

I've been to both.  Lots of good material and great place to meet other investors.

Welcome!

Just got back from closing on my first property.  Pick up the keys tomorrow.  So stoked.  Next step is the tenant screening process.  Bring it on!

Hi All, Just about to close on my first property and want to make sure I'm taking advantage of all the tax benefits. Can anyone recommend a tax advisor in the Salt Lake Valley that specializes in real estate investing? Cheers, Alan

Welcome to BP @Christian Robbins !

I'm only about a year ahead of you.  Still so much to learn.  I've found that going to the local REIAs (Real Estate Investing Associations) has really helped.

I've been to two, Utah REIA and SL REIA.

Links are:

http://slreia.com/

Hope to see you around.

Welcome @Michael Douglas Christensen

Another great resource is the Utah Real Estate Investors Association.  Great place to meet other investors and make contacts.  Check it out at https://www.utahreia.org/.
