ACTION=seed planted

"DID" YESTERDAY

(I’m trying to organize all my tax paper work and saving skills so I can access things when I need them. L Its improving.)

#1- plant business searched for more rec'- found lots but not this years? was in car glove box. (somebody must of cleaned) NOTE to self glove box not working- put small manila envelope with year and tax rec on it in BIG bold black letters) missed a call back fromJane; picked up internet statement and pc repair statement;

#2- land development

I need to be productive… so let’s stick with what CAN be accomplished, no sense in spinning wheels and wasting time.

#3- buy the farm

went to town office picked up tax info and map; checked on tree growth;

Baby steps.... I can’t get there if I stand still or go backwards.

Today what ARE you "DOING?" That will get you one step closer to your goal. Just dreaming about it won't get you there, but if you take even small steps in that directions with actions that will accomplish "something" that is needed to go in that direction. My steps are little… as a newbie, so I am breaking it down for anybody that wants to follow and see… if it works. :D

ACTION=seed planted

Today:

#1- plant business (actually most of these steps will help all other aspects)

- Search for tax (receipts) box got moved when my daughter moved in and out of my home. Hopefully it wasn’t thrown out. :/

-find mileage book

-call Jane (SBDC counselor)

-Start, "START" to flesh out a business plan- do at least "ONE" section

-need internet statement printout

-need pc repair printout for last two years

(I’m trying to organize all my tax paper work and saving skills so I can access things when I need them. L Its improving.)

#2- land development

-I have to wait till Monday when the code officer is in office (country town)

-Print- never mind gotta wait till I know what I CAN do with the land- no sense in spinning wheels and wasting time. I need to be productive… so let’s stick with what CAN be accomplished

#3- buy the farm

-check out loan options

-make application get pre-approval

-town office- get tax map and taxes on land

These are things I CAN do today. Baby steps right now but walking gets you somewhere. I can’t get there if I stand still or go backwards.

what did i accomplish today on my list?

well i worked on taxes;

called jane for meeting;

received info from agriculture;

talked to my realtor and got some leads on mortgage options;

MISSED my chance to hit up code officer tonight. I TOTALLY forgot about, was so busy doing taxes and finding papers.  real bummer.

but all in all i was productive and took some steps toward my goals

I like 1 if it was a cleaner cut, but then 1 does feel similiar to facebook (which you dont want I wouldnt think)

2 is to simple

3 is too complicated and feminine as somebody pointed out.

3 might be a good one if you simplify the colors of it and emphasis

but off the top first one i liked was #1 simple but not too simple and i liked the green house

tonight is Monday and the code officer is in; I shall go see him again and clarify some more things and see what he says about cluster building... and then i will set up a meeting this week with the planning board in town to see further what I CAN actually do with my land- then I can solidify plans for the land.

I am at the beginning of a few projects and am a newbie in most aspects, the ball has just started rolling for me. So Today...

Project 1 (wild foods business)

-I need to finish up taxes;

-Call Business Attorney to start INCorporation of LLC;

-call Jane my business counselor from SBDC. (I just met her at a meeting last week and she is excited about the project)

-work on busisness plan 1: my wild food business (my income source to help do REI) and so i can secure some land for the businss at a GREAT price. :D

-call agriculture to set up meeting and get MORE FACTS

Project 2 (tiny house VR/ vacation rental)

- bring it together (what CAN I do today)  still in the planning stage of what CAN I DO with my land.

-tonight is Monday and the code officer is in office (I need to get some more answers and clarifications for land use)

-set up a planning board meeting with commity (to further see what i need to do and if i can do a cluster development.)

Project 3 (my farm land that i want)

-all the above will help that

-write up pre qualification mortgage loan ap and see if i can go that route.

I think that is all that i CAN do today, but these are all steps closer to that vision.

       ACTION = seed planted (to get something out of the garden you must plant)

awesome @Account Closed. working for yourself does give you your time to do what one wants in life. You are working so hard cause it sounds like you are loving what u do. Get it done.  :) yes hopefully life will be better soon for your wife. its to bad she doesnt  enjoy this along with you, but it must not be her thing. Everybody needs something needs to do what they love to feel fullfilled in life.

thank you @David Dachtera I would do  what they call executive housing and give discount as to length of time needed. A weeks stay would be like 30% off; a months stay would be 50% off rate. One night at about $85-125; for extended stays a week would be like $415; a months stay would be about $1225.  i still have to research what is available for competitive rates, but how do you compare a hotel with a home.  I am not possitive yet on my pricing, but a decent hotels around the area average about that; a low end motel/ hotel is about $59. so even at $59. ; $289 a week; 885... no that would be too low? maybe for a 1 person stay. but not sure that would cover the cost. got to run some numbers.

but first I still need to talk to town code officer and the planning board to see what I can do, "IF" i can do commerical cabins. If not then back to 4 lot duplexes, which will still offer week discount and the month discount.

I will still develop tiny cabins somewhere, but maybe just not at this location.

I am sure i can develop this piece of land as it has been my dreams for a few years. I just never had the full vision. Now i have vision and gumption. I have purpose and direction. I am sure i can write up a good business plan and get the needed funding, once i have the idea all rounded out and know what exactly i want, and what I can do.

Even if i cant do the plan there- I will put duplexes there as a back up, and find another location that i can do my vision. I will find a way to complete it. :D
