Tax Delinquent List Harris County Houston

Hello everyone, I was wondering if any of you might know how to get a tax delinquent list for houston. I know that the hctax website lets you look up a name or adress but won't let you browse the entire database. I am asking because I think it would be a good way to find motivated sellers I believe. Please feel free to argue if I'm wrong. On the same subject, where would one find a list a people back on their mortgage payments? Thanks for the help

Those lists exist.  It's how I've figured out what properties I've missed when it comes time to pay taxes (figuring out who is owed what is hard.  I have a big xls to help).   I know that if I forget one, come around this time I'm flooded with

"OMG DO YOU NEED HELP PAYING YOUR TAXES!?!?!?   CONTACT US FOR A TAX LOAN!@##@".   It's like when you get a ticket, you're swamped with offers to fight it.

I realize this doesn't help beyond telling you that such a method exists.  :)

Call the tax office and ask if a tax sale is coming up, if so, get them to email you a list of properties.  I'm not sure but they might also be able to give you a list of property IDs that are not paid up for the current roll year.

I know lending institutions have foreclosure lists as well.

Hi @Tristan S. Google Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP Tax Sale Properties. You can do searches through this website. The site is for the Law firm that handles all of Harris County's tax lien foreclosures.

foreclosehouston.com.  Pretty much updated to the minute. Subscription based, but believe me, you'll want it.  Reasonable rates.

Tristan S, did you find the list you were looking for?  Not of foreclosures but of tax delinquent properties?

here you go..

A publication of all properties set for sale can be purchased from Daily Court Review https://www.dailycourtreview.com or Foreclosure Listing Service. Also, the websites of delinquent tax attorneys Linebarger Goggan Blair and Sampson, at http://www.lgbs.com, or Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott, atwww.pbfcm.com, contain lists of the properties set for tax sale by the taxing units they represent.

@William E. I recently found these websites when looking through tax assessor's web page. After you find the list, are investors directly contacting the owners to cut a deal and buy the home before the tax sale? Sorry, I'm a little confused on tax deeds. Or is this just to learn about the property itself?

@Sahegin Charolia

the one's i've listed are going up for foreclosure.

i just use it as a list for potential houses to pick up at the tax auction.

I personally don't contact any of the people off this, list, although i don't see why you couldn't?

i occasionally go to the monthly sheriffs sale on the courthouse steps with a wad of cash and hope to get a good deal. the list above lets me know about potential houses that i can drive by and do title searches for.

@William E.Thank you for replying! Also what is a good resource to learn more about tax deeds as it relates to local county or area or even the whole process. Every time I feel like I understand this, there seems to be something that comes up that throws me off.

I have been searching every property in neighborhoods that I am targeting in Harris County. I have also notice the website locks you out for a few minutes after searching 20 or so addresses. I have managed to come up with a decent list just looking a street or two at a time a few times a week.

@Kirk Granberry Are you talking about the attorney websites or the daily court review?

@Sahegin Charolia I am using the Tax Assessor's website. I believe the attorney websites and daily court review only show properties that liens are being auctioned, and I am not interested in buying liens currently.

@Kirk Granberry I just started searching for these yesterday and called County clerk's office and tax assessor's office to see where I could find a list and I was directed to other sources that William listed. So you basically enter addresses of properties in https://www.hctax.net/Property/PropertyTax and see which is is delinquent? Is the strategy kind of like foreclosures where you try to make a deal with the owners to get the properties from them by making them an offer? That's what I was trying to look into but kept getting the tax sales list which are the auctions.

I built it.  I'm kind of new to real estate but good at data mining.  Is this something that you think would be valuable to you or others?  One would think that these homeowners would be far more likely to sell than the average owner.

Yes. If the list is available, the investors may be able to use it to direct marketing materials to them.
