Was listening to Sam Zell talking about how developers were planning on building 300 sf apartments for singles in New York City and LA he was saying out of his 18,000 units, 40% are singles and are willing to give up space for privacy.In relaying this story to a couple at a rental housing association meeting I was informed of a complex being built on a 50 by 100 ft lot in Portland that will have 58 units, all 200 sf with one kitchen per 4 units.
