If you see signs of water damage in the basement (if there is a basement) you may change your mind. 

There was a creek in the back yard and the birthday kids played in the water and mud and tracked it all over my house. 

This is a 100+ yr old brownstone, the layout of the basement does not allow for storage cages and with the 3 boilers, water heaters, and where the utilities/sewer line etc are arranged there isn't a way to accommodate storage without blocking access to the circuit breakers, meters, or the basement's bulkhead doors.

I'm reviewing a Condo that contains HOA fees that cover things like the exterior (Roof, siding, landscaping) along with hot water heaters. 

There are lot's of old buildings and it can be hard to keep water out of the basement.

But it also muddied the waters because there was so much to learn about being a solo agent.

With plain vanilla resi mortgages either you use a broker or not doesn't really matter.With commercial 5+ loans I've always had the best experience using a community bank local to the property.  

I think real estate investing could be a part of that.I would like to start by buying one property, just to dip my toe in the water.

I have searched far and wide for a company that provides a simple to use submetering system for water, electric, and heat, unless you have a 50+ unit building.
