I would ask her about it, and if I had other stronger applicants I'd go that direction, but the screening company gave them a thumbs up, so that is worth something.

When househacking if you don’t want to have bad tenants, it all started with the screening.

I don't want to create service fees that are too high and discourage a tenant from calling us regarding a legit issue but I want to weed out the unnecessary things that tenants need to try and resolve on their own first before just calling in like we are an all expense paid hotel service.

Usually if there are problems it is around Internet Explorer (such a terrible browser even MS abandoned it), touch screens (our html5 for touch isn't great), or virus tools interfering.

Sometimes it can be a red flag so make sure to screen the landlord questions carefully. 

Most relatives refuse to go through this process, feeling it is unnecessary.

I'm new in this business, and as part of the screening process I know I have to get the tenant's background check.
