It feels like manually comparing it to other properties in the area on Zillow or via the MLS is inefficient, prone to missing certain details, or cumbersome to scroll up and down numerous pages.How does everyone else go about pulling comps?

@Kyle Nield  Hi Kyle - I have numerous (multifamily) investments in the Upstate/SC and I'm bullish on the region. 

While a GC will cost more than subbing each trade out on your own, there are numerous benefits you will receive.

It sounds like you have a solid background in the construction industry though, so it's possible you might have enough industry knowledge/direct access to good subs and suppliers that would reduce your costs enough to make the numbers work.Happy to connect if you'd like to chat more in depth about my experience and any insight I can provide to help you get started.

You can have them supply the siding and windows which they will mark up or you can send off the materials to a supplier and coordinate with an installer.

My experience is that Hunter is more viable year-round, at least pre-COVID, because of the numerous events that are held there.

But on a reverse search using his web page content, phone numbers, email address, name etc, there like companies that all have scammed numerous people: AEG Capital Group in Henderson NV.

The last thing I will mention is not sure what you mean by NY (state, city, long Island, etc) There is a mass exodus from urban to suburban, this is country wide not just NY but lots of people for numerous reason are leaving the state.  

As has been said on numerous Toledo-centric posts over the years, select your team more carefully than you do your investments...ultimately those relationships will bail you out of many bad decisions.

I'd suggest Indianapolis which has numerous and our renter market is overflowing with tenants needing places.
