Is this because you did research and from all the methods you found lists were the best.. or are you doing this because 90% of Bigger-pockets told you to do it or is doing it?

If it gets sucked up toward the flue, that is expected (and you want that); if it is being blown back away from the flue then that is back-drafting.Back-drafting can be solved by installing an air makeup kit to bring outside air to those appliances, so combustion intake air doesn’t have to be pulled through the chimney.

Any one know if this method is correct?

I’m looking at the BRRRR method in a new aspect.

@James Morrissey - my recommendation would be to outsource the first 2 to either an agent or property management company, depending on the predominant method used by your state, and learn the process from them.
