I am looking for a local mentor that I can learn from as well as assist in any way I can.

If you're looking to get into the business my best advice would be to either find a good mentor who is a seasoned investor or real estate professional.

The best thing you can do as a newbie in REI is pair up with a mentor to help you get some skin in the game.

@Cheri SchafferI can certainly understand that there would be pros and cons to the appliance issue but I recall, with laughter of course, my mentor in this business explained to me how " he was not in the appliance business".

I have a mentor who flips in Dekalb County.

Any advice for someone just starting out is much appreciated... ie: books to read, podcasts and email subscriptions, seminars, webinars, etc.I'm also looking for a mentor since I believe that is the key to success in any industry.Thanks,Joseph

Get yourself a mentor to bounce things off of and watch what they do.  

Any advice or help i know about REIA i plan to start going more i have only been once.Thanks One more question what do people think about mentor programs that you pay for how have they helped you or how have they not ?
