I would encourage you to take the opportunity to stroll/drive through the areas you are interested in, get a feel for those areas and check any of the inventory being shown.

Cash for keys is probably going to be the cheapest because I'm sure California fines won't be cheap and neither will attorney fees.Once you get her out I strongly encourage your dad to get the building legal…although not really sure what that means in this case but would want to go down the same road again.

Among other considerations, I've strongly encouraged my father to keep a significant cash reserve and to apply for a HELOC – to be kept as an emergency line of credit, not used, of course.
