North Delaware - Advice in good areas to invest and settle in

Hey there Delaware folks. Hope you guys are doing well!

I am thinking of relocating to Delaware and was hoping for advice on good areas to invest in. I currently live in a multi-family in central jersey which I bought little over 2 years ago. I made all the repairs and at this point a pretty solid investment property.

Now, I'm looking for a Single Family within decent commuting distance to Philadelphia, I work at the Navy Yard. My current daily commute is like 1.5 hours each way so I need a break, LOL... I'm also looking to plant some roots, starting a family so good schools would be very helpful.

Why Delaware? I noticed that taxes there are pretty awesome and coming from Jersey, you could see why my interest is peaked. I was thinking of Wilmington but during my research of the area, I noticed an FBI survey stating that Wilmington is ranked no. 3 for most murders. Big BUMMER!

Any suggestion you might have that leads me in the right direction would be awesome!

Thanks guys!

Philly burbs are nice. Check out Conshohocken. It has a great school system and some half decent restaurants.
