I'm looking to start a business for residents at an assisted living site. What services are lacking? I was going to do manicures but nurses do this already. Then I thought laundry service but it seems that is also done by the facility. What type of service do you see the residents needing or wanting that they have trouble getting or can't really get at all? I need to start a side business to help pay for bill for my special needs son and I thought this would be a good way to do it. Thanks for the suggestions.

I know that for a good number of elderly people, one of the problems they have regards loneliness or simply maintaining a fulfilling social life. We are actually partners in an adult day center that Medicare pays for elderly people to come to during the day to hang out and enjoy a variety of social events. Something along this line might be worth thinking about. Focusing on socializing and some sort of entertainment may be a good angle to look at.
